Halloween Shenanigans

Saturday was the night to celebrate Halloween in this neck of the woods for adults. So... on Saturday night I put on my awesome Rainbow Brite costume. Michelle and Miranda came over and we headed out for the night.

We stopped at the Windom Country club first. They had some big prizes, food included in the admission, and it was lots of fun! Michelle and I both won door prizes (I got some free tanning and she got some wine supplies) and my Dad won a big flat screen TV. Michelle went as Betty Rubble.

Then we headed out to PJ's. They had a DJ and a mechanical bull. Miranda decided to take a stab at the bull since some of the girls decided to ride the bull backwords. She had to show them how it's done.

Nurse Miranda and me.

And another one of me and Michelle.

What a fun night!

Jennie & Jason Tie the Knot

Jennie & Jason got marriend on September 24, 2011. Anne flew in on Friday morning so she could be in the wedding. I picked her up from the airport (actually she was supposed to fly in on Thursday night, but because of some plane problems she was delayed) and then we spent some time at the Mall of American before heading home to Windom. Friday night was rehersal and the Groom's Supper at the Windom Country Club. I was asked to be Jen's photographer for the rehersal.

Saturday morning we were all up bright and early for hair and make-up. We went down to Jennie's mom's hair shop in Jackson. I didn't want my hair down like normal, so Anne did my hair for me. It turned out wonderful! Here are all the girls: Me, Molly, Amy, Sarah, Jennie, Chelsey, Alicia, and Anne.

Then, we got Jennie all gussied up in her wedding dress and I performed by Personal Attendant duties. Isn't she lovely?

After I sent her down the aisle at the church with Nate, I grabbed my camera and headed to the balcony to grab some shots of the wedding from above. I loved how the pictures turned out!

And you may kiss the bride. The new Mr. and Mrs. Sykora!

Picture time after the wedding. Waiting for the bridal party to board the limo-bus for the trip up to Jackpot Junction for the reception.

Quick pit stop at the Phat Pheasant for a drink.

The photographer had the bus stop in Springfield for some more photos of the bridal party. We grabbed a quick girls shot.

And I of course grabbed my camera too to grab some shots of the happy couple.

And I may have taken a few of the shots the photographer set up as well.

I had to take the opportunity to take a pic with Chris in a suit again... not sure how many more times I'll get him in a suit.

We took the Corvette up to Jackpot - I love this car :)

All in all it was a wonderful night!

The next day we all traveled back to Windom, and before we knew it, it was time for Anne to return to Germany already. Of course I couldn't let her leave without a fearsome foursome picture. Miss you already Anne!

Studio Calico's Glee Club Kit - September

Studio Calico's September kit, Glee Club was full of some very vibrant colors. Love!

Impromptu Photo Shoot - These pictures where taken on a whim so JD could test out his new camera. I then brought over my camera and tumpted his :) I really played with my mist paints here with those lovely Studio Calico Veneer Houses. Loved making a rainbow with them.

5 Years and Counting - Picture taken on our five year anniversary. We went out to supper at the Kinbrae Supper Club (where this pic was taken), then watched the fireworks at my parents house.

Crazy Horse Memorial - This was from out recent trip to Rapid City over Labor Day Weekend. It was very neat to be able to see this memorial for the first time and it will be very interesting to see how it has changed of the next half a decade plus of our lives. (I'm guessing that it still won't be done then either!)

Hag & Stag Party - These were from this summer for Jennie and Jason's Bachelorette and Bachelor Party. I journaled about the night on the manila shipping tag that I altered with mist and stamps. Here is what it says: 'Jennie and Jason had a joint Bachlor/Bachelorette party. First, the guys went golfing while the girls did 'typical' Bachelorette things - games and gifts. Then, we had a doubles beer pong competition and of course some wonderful food. We then all boarded a limo-bus which took us down to Boji for a night of bar hopping. Girls attending: Sarah, Molly, Alicia, Chelsey, Jennie, Ashlee, Lindsey, Alissa, & Carrie. Boys attending: Chris, Mark, Jason, Trent, Just, Will & Jake. The whole day was tons of fun!'

Studio Calico's Boardwalk Kit (August)

Studio Calico's August kit, Boardwalk was filled to the brim with gorgeous blues and greens, making it perfect for water pictures. So today I thought I would share the layouts I have done with this kit.

Soakin' up the Sun - a layout about from one of the Sundays this summer we actually spent part of on the boat. I did lots of misting to get that trim that color.

Reef - I'm still scrapping pictures from our Grand Caymen trip in October 2009. I was very inspired by the hexagons on the Studio Calico paper and thought I'd mimick that with hand stitching connected to it.

Lazy Sundays - This layout goes with the 'Soakin' up the Sun' layout above. Same day. Kevin and Tam came out to enjoy the lovely weather with us on that Sunday.

Like the Wind - I took this picture of Jake running full speed across the pasture this summer. Boy does he love to run, and fast!

Deckers - This is another layout from our Grand Caymen trip. We ate one night at Deckers, which was just across the street from out hotel. It was named because of the red double decker bus built into the wall. Pretty neat. I have to say the food was delish there, if we go back we will definetly visit again.

Perfect Parisian Night - And even farther back than our Grand Caymen trip was our last trip to Europe, in April 2008. Here we are after watching the Eiffel Tower light up at night. Before this we had ate supper in our neighborhood (same neighborhood as the Eiffel tower (; ) and had some wonderful local food! It was such a nice evening!

My Thoughts on Travel - Ok, so this one isn't a Boardwalk layout, it uses some older prodect. But I thought I would share it now anyway. Inside the folder includes a list of the places I've been and my top places I want to go.

Thinking

... About blogging. So, this is this post where I admit I've been thinking about blogging, but apparently I'm to lazy to actually do it. Perhaps cuz I'd have to take pictures and that requires some daylight and it's just getting dark way too early already. Summer... Come back! Anyways, this is just to say that I haven't forgotten and I will post again (hopefully sooner rather that later). I've got remodeling updates and scrapbook updates and maybe a few more things... And as a teaser this picture is my bathroom lights, which are no more! Yay! (and I'm more convinced than ever that we should have a remodeling show after this awesome weekend we had - we would be hilarious)
